UMAT EXAM IN 3 DAYSUMAT = Undergraduate Medicine Admissions Test
This will be the single biggest exam I take all year. This is even worse than my HSC exams in October to determine my UAI and rankings and all this and that.
UMAT's basically an aptitude test to determine if you have the mind to be a doctor. It's split into 3 sections:
- Section One : Logical Reasoning and problem solving (THE HARDEST)
- Section Two : Understanding people (my favourite)
- Section Three : Non Verbal Reasoning (very fun)
Tutoring for this is like..$400-500. It's really expensive..and the test itself, you have to pay $160 to SIT THE EXAM. And there's ALOT of competition. There's I think..700 people sitting it? I'm not too sure on the figures. So if you think about it, this is ALOT of money that they're making. Plus if you do well, you have to then go through an
interview process. OMG, just to get into medicine..there's so much work needed...
And you need to do well in this. You can't "study" for this exam. All questions you've never seen before and you can't really prepare except PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE.
I'm so unbelievably stressed. I feel like everything's just crumbling aaargh..T_T Really..I'm so scared cause I have such high hopes. And if I don't do well in this, it instantly means no medicine = end of the road for my hopes and dreams..
